Removals in Falkirk

The town that commutes both ways — half an hour to Glasgow, half an hour to Edinburgh.

Falkirk sits between the two cities, and that is the whole character of moving here. People arrive because they can work in either one without paying either one’s house prices, and they leave for the same reason in reverse. We move both directions most months.

We cover Falkirk town centre, Camelon, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Grangemouth, Polmont, Bo’ness, Denny and Bonnybridge. We are based in Motherwell, which is around twenty minutes away on the M80 and M876 — a shorter run than a lot of the Glasgow work we do every week.

Moving in Falkirk

What is different here

The things that actually change how long a move takes, and therefore what it costs.

Two commutes, one house

A Falkirk move is often a compromise between two workplaces, which means the buyers are frequently families upsizing out of a city flat. Those moves are volume-heavy rather than access-heavy: more to carry, but usually a driveway at the other end.

Housing that changes street by street

Victorian and Edwardian stone near the centre, big inter-war and post-war estates around it, and a lot of newer building out towards Larbert and Polmont. A 1900s flat off Grahams Road and a 2015 semi in Larbert are different jobs entirely.

Grangemouth and shift patterns

A good number of local moves work around shifts at the refinery and the port. Early starts and weekend loading are normal here rather than exceptional, and we would rather plan around your rota than pretend everyone moves on a Friday.

Parking is rarely the problem

Most Falkirk streets take a Luton without a permit. That is a genuine difference from Glasgow, where a bay suspension needs nine full working days, and it takes a real cost and a real risk out of the day.

Both directions

City to Falkirk, and Falkirk to the city

The two most common Falkirk jobs are opposites, and they need different planning.

Out of a city flat, into a house

The hard half is the city end — the stair, the close, the parking. The Falkirk end is usually a driveway. We size the crew for the difficult half, not the average.

Falkirk to Glasgow or Edinburgh

Both are comfortable single-day moves. Edinburgh adds controlled parking and, in the centre, its own restrictions, so we check the destination street before quoting rather than after.

Within Falkirk district

Camelon to Polmont, Larbert to Bo’ness — short runs where the loading is the whole job. Priced on volume and access, never on mileage.

Long distance from Falkirk

The M9 and M80 put the motorway network right there, so a Falkirk move to England is planned as one job with one crew rather than a relay.

Storage between dates

Containerised storage at our Motherwell yard, twenty minutes away, for when the sale and the purchase do not land on the same day.

What customers say

From customers we have moved

  • I used TransScot in both January and Feb this year. Both times, the service and respect for both me and my precious possessions were incredible. The efficiency and professional standards of a huge company, with the thoughtfulness and consideration of a small business - I would highly recommend them to everyone. I was in quite a vulnerable position, on my own, and timing was imperative - the reassurance and respect I was shown (and kindness to my 87-year-old mum) was amazing. They just make you have faith in humanity again.

  • George and his team did a fabulous job today in moving a sofa and chair from one location to another and they were total life savers in the end. What seemed like a straightforward move turned into a nightmare when the chair wouldnt fit through the front or back door. George worked tirelessley to find a solution even to the extent of taking the back door off (and one inside door too) getting the chair to where it was meant to go and the putting both doors back into place. I so appreciate the effort that they put in, their dedication and not to mention their reasonable price for what turned out to be a mad job. I highly recommend George and his team. Thank you :)

  • I can't recommend Leda and her team enough to anyone who is looking to move! The team removed my items quickly and efficiently, it was then stored and delivered the other end of the country when I need it to be. The quote was very reasonable (and better than big brand companies)nd the communication throughout has been exceptional. My items have all been delivered safely.

Questions

Asked most often about Falkirk moves

Do you actually cover Falkirk, or is this a landing page?

We cover it and have worked there for years. We are based in Motherwell, about twenty minutes away on the M80 and M876 — closer than much of the Glasgow work we do weekly. There is no Falkirk office and we are not going to invent one.

How much does a move from Glasgow to Falkirk cost?

A two-bedroom move typically lands in the £525–£921 range in 2026, with three-bedroom moves from around £783. The Glasgow end — floor, stair, parking — moves the number far more than the mileage does.

Can you work around shifts at Grangemouth?

Yes. Early starts and weekend loading are normal for us here. Tell us the rota when you enquire and we will build the day around it.

Do I need a parking permit in Falkirk?

Almost never — most streets take a large van without one. If you are moving from a controlled zone in Glasgow or Edinburgh, that end may need arranging, and we will tell you at survey.

Which areas around Falkirk do you cover?

Camelon, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Grangemouth, Polmont, Bo’ness, Denny, Bonnybridge and the surrounding villages, as well as the town itself.
