TransScot Removals

Cookie policy

Last updated 13 August 2026

This site sets two essential cookies, and uses Google Analytics. Analytics cookies are set only if you agree to them. There is no advertising, no remarketing and no social media tracking.

The essential cookies are set without asking, because the site cannot do what you have asked of it without them and the law does not require consent for that. Analytics is different, so the notice asks first — and if you decline, no analytics cookie is ever set.

Essential cookies — always on

Both are first-party, meaning they are set by this website and are not readable by anyone else.

  • A quote session cookie, set when you start a quote. It lets you leave the form and come back to it later without losing your answers. It expires after 90 days.
  • An administrator session cookie, set only when a member of TransScot staff signs in to the office system. It is never set for customers.
  • A preference cookie recording your answer to the cookie notice, so we do not ask again every time you visit. It stores only your choice and expires after a year.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. It tells us which parts of the site are useful and which are not; it is never used to identify you personally or to advertise to you.

The Google Analytics script loads on every page, but it is told not to store anything until you agree. If you accept, it sets its cookies and measures your visit normally. If you decline, or ignore the notice, it sets no cookie and cannot recognise you or link one visit to another.

Being straight with you about what declining does and does not do: Google still receives a single anonymous message recording that a page was viewed, including your IP address, the page and where you came from. There is no identifier attached, so it cannot be tied to you or to any other visit. Google uses those to estimate overall numbers.

Google acts as our processor for this and stores the data on our behalf. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.

Changing your mind

You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was, and takes effect immediately.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the quote session cookie, the quote form will not be able to save your progress, and you would need to complete it in one sitting.

What we never set

There are no advertising or remarketing pixels on this site, no social media trackers, and no third-party cookies beyond the Google Analytics ones described above.

We do record which page you landed on and which site referred you, so we know which of our pages bring in enquiries. That is recorded on our own server against your quote rather than in a cookie, and it is not linked to any activity of yours on other websites.
