East Kilbride was designed rather than grown, and it shows in the moving. Wide estate roads and off-street parking make much of the town straightforward. The complications are elsewhere: the roundabout system, the older Village streets, and the fact that a lot of the local demand is businesses rather than households.
We are based in Motherwell, about twenty minutes away, and cover the whole town — the Village, Westwood, Calderwood, Stewartfield, St Leonards, Murray, and the industrial estates out at Nerston and College Milton.

New-town estates are usually the easy part
Post-war and later estate housing tends to have off-street parking, level access and doors wide enough for furniture. Where a Glasgow tenement move is decided by the stair, an East Kilbride semi is usually decided by volume alone — which means the quote is more predictable and the day is often shorter.
The Village and the older streets
The original village predates the new town and behaves like an old village: narrower streets, tighter parking, and some properties where a large vehicle cannot get close. Worth flagging at survey so we bring the right van rather than the biggest one.
Getting around the town
East Kilbride is built around a roundabout system with limited through-routes. It rarely causes a problem, but it does affect timings between a collection in one district and a delivery in another, and we plan the order of the day around it.

There is plenty of low-rise flatted housing across the town. Most is two or three storeys with a shared entrance rather than a Glasgow-style close, so the question is usually the internal stair width rather than a half-landing turn.
