Removals in Coatbridge

Ten minutes from our depot — close enough that a Coatbridge move can be flexible in ways a cross-country one never can.

Coatbridge is the nearest sizeable town to our Motherwell base — ten minutes up the road, past Strathclyde Park. That proximity is worth something practical: short-notice dates are easier to fit, a move can run in two trips where that suits the day better than one big load, and if your entry time slips to late afternoon we are not sweating a long drive home afterwards.

We cover the whole town — Whifflet, Townhead, Kirkshaws, Greenend, Shawhead, Drumpellier, Blairhill and the streets around Summerlee — and the villages at Glenboig and Gartcosh.

Moving in Coatbridge

What is different here

The things that actually change how long a move takes, and therefore what it costs.

The four-in-a-block, and its outside stair

A huge share of Coatbridge housing is the classic Lanarkshire four-in-a-block: two cottage flats down, two up, with the upstairs pair reached by their own side door and staircase. Those stairs are narrower than a close and often turn at the top — the wardrobe question gets asked here more than anywhere. We know before the day whether your stair is a straight carry or a dismantling job.

Pre-war terraces and red-brick rows

The iron-town streets — tight terraces with on-street parking and doors straight onto the pavement. The van stands where it can, and the carry is planned rather than improvised. Short distances, but they add up over a full house, so they belong in the quote.

Five railway stations shape the moves

Coatbridge is one of the best-connected towns in Scotland by rail, and it shows in who moves here: Glasgow commuters trading a flat for a garden. Tenement close at one end, scheme semi at the other — we price for the harder end, which is almost always the Glasgow one.

Drumpellier and the larger houses

Around Drumpellier and Blairhill the housing steps up — bay-windowed semis and villas with driveways and more volume than the room count suggests. These are usually bigger jobs than their owners expect, which is exactly what a video survey is for.

Next door to Airdrie, but not the same move

The two towns run into each other and we work both, but the housing is different: Airdrie is decided by its town-centre stone stock, Coatbridge by the four-in-a-blocks and terraces. Each has its own page because each is genuinely its own job.

On our doorstep

What ten minutes away actually buys you

Most removal firms quote Coatbridge from across the city. Our vans pass through it most weeks anyway, and that changes what we can offer.

Short-notice dates

A slot that opens on Thursday can take a Coatbridge move booked on Tuesday. The travel maths that makes late bookings hard for distant firms barely applies here.

Two trips when two trips are better

For a house with awkward access, two smaller loads can beat one big one. That is rarely economic at distance; ten minutes away, it is a genuine option.

Late keys are not a crisis

When entry slips to 4pm, a local crew waits it out without the day collapsing. The late-key wait is priced calmly rather than defensively.

What customers say

From customers we have moved

  • A truly exceptional end to end service 😁. George and his team were excellent throughout the removal and delivery 🚚 of my good and chattels, nothing was too much trouble. I also had major delays (over 6 months) in completing my new house purchase. George with absolutely no complaints continued to store all property securely and safely. A truly excellent end to end service 😁

  • George and his team did a fabulous job today in moving a sofa and chair from one location to another and they were total life savers in the end. What seemed like a straightforward move turned into a nightmare when the chair wouldnt fit through the front or back door. George worked tirelessley to find a solution even to the extent of taking the back door off (and one inside door too) getting the chair to where it was meant to go and the putting both doors back into place. I so appreciate the effort that they put in, their dedication and not to mention their reasonable price for what turned out to be a mad job. I highly recommend George and his team. Thank you :)

  • I can't recommend Leda and her team enough to anyone who is looking to move! The team removed my items quickly and efficiently, it was then stored and delivered the other end of the country when I need it to be. The quote was very reasonable (and better than big brand companies)nd the communication throughout has been exceptional. My items have all been delivered safely.

Questions

Asked most often about Coatbridge moves

Do you cover all of Coatbridge?

Yes — every district from Whifflet to Blairhill, plus Glenboig and Gartcosh. We are based in Motherwell, about ten minutes away.

I am in an upstairs four-in-a-block — is that a problem?

It is the most normal thing in Lanarkshire. The side stair decides whether large furniture comes down whole or comes apart; tell us at survey and it is planned, not discovered.

How much does a removal in Coatbridge cost?

Volume and access decide it, same as anywhere. What helps here is proximity: no long positioning drives are being built into your price. The online quote takes a few minutes.

Can you do short notice?

More often here than almost anywhere we work. If your date is suddenly next week, phone — a local gap in the diary fits a local move.
